it has been ages since i last update my blog. Busy with my family, busy with my work, and most importantly, busy with my life. lol.

anyway, received a call from post office today to go and collect my parcel. Didn't expect it to be so many! Normally I will received 2 or 3 parcel from ebay everyweek, but this time somehow they all come together at the same time.

well this is what i stumble upon today, the biggest pile of hot wheels cases that i have seen so far after 3 years of collecting hot wheels. it was really shock to me to see such a huge quantity of restock in this hypermarket. there are at least 50 cases up there!

N and M indicated that this is the latest wave that's been restock in our shore recently. So what will you do? pull a chair start taking down those box by your self? claim 'customer is always right' and open up ALL the box one by one even without asking permission? 'sapu' (hoard) all the TH and other hot car from the box?

if you want to 'explore' those box, please ask the permission from the staff first ya. don't be like some of those DESPERATE collector that trespassing into the hypermarket store room without permission, or start digging out the box and leave a mess of it. understand that 'customer is always right', but i'm sure you don't want to end up beeing escorted out by security or beeing ban from entering the hypermarket again, right?

so guess what i do when i saw those boxes? well believe it or not, i just select some of the cars from the pegs without even touching a single box of those. lol. too much hasle to take down those boxes just for a few car that i want.

so for you that have been looking new restock, you can try your luck in this hypermarket. but from the look of the boxes seems like all has been opened up. so don't put high hope for those hot car like skyline R32 and honda civic ya.

oh ya almost forgot, where is this hypermarket? :)

first thing that you'll notice when you hold the car in your hand is the weight of the car. It's heavy! the colour combination and the tampo really blend well, making even a non 69 mustang collector like me hard to resist.

almost complete my hot wheels monster jam duo from this one single purchase. lol. i was very lucky indeed manage to get almost all the monster jam duo from this single seller, plus all in loose! i always prefer to buy my hot wheels in loose rather than carded. not only it's cheaper, it save space and cheaper to ship too. and the best thing about this purchase is no body really fight bid with me! got some of the monster jam duo for only $2.99. good deal eh!

here are some of the hot wheels and matchbox cars that i pickup from 7-Eleven and various store locally. this time is really bought locally ya. :p

for hot wheels, the morris mini is the hardest one to find. not because of limited restock, but people is hoarding (yes i really mean hoarding!) dozen and dozen of the morris mini as can be seen from the posting in our local forum. all are so proud to be able to find so many mini....

as for matchbox, there are some new matchbox wave that's been restock in 7E now. the matchbox new wave do come with some very nice cars. i was quite surprise to see the quick sander and lotus evora in 7E as i do not see any people posted this 2 cars in their recent purchase from 7E.

did you guys stumble upon this quick sander and lotus evora often in 7E? i know i don't because so far i only see them once from around 15 7E that i visited.

i posted this 2 picture in our local forum recently. but to my surprise i received so many message and some even call me asking which 7E i get that 2011 garage karmann ghia.

firstly, if you look back at my posting in the forum on these 2 pictures, did i mention i got it from 7E? secondly, no other people manage to find the karmann ghia in 7E neither in our local market. so, am i really that lucky not only to be able to find it, and even find 2 pcs of it? lol. don't get me wrong, i'm not trying to join the band by showing off what i haul from other place but claim it to be from 7E (but i know some collector that love to do this to prove that they are not falling behind lol.), neither i want to compete with other collector to see who is the 'king' of haul in 7E promo. what i'm trying to tell everybody here is don't just simply believe what people say or post in the forum/blog.

when i post that 2 picture in the forum, i already have in my mind that i will write this post in my blog to clarify the haul picture that i posted in the forum. what i'm trying to tell you all is there are all kind of people in the forum, some are really kind and helpful, but on the other side some are those that the mouth is just full of lies.

there are a small number of collector in the forum that i know where their fun is seeing other collector doing the wild goose chase. they like to create false story to make people believe that they are more lucky/superior than other collector, even claiming and showing the TH that never landed in our country but he manage to get it from 7E. i don't understand why they want to do this, perhaps he felt it's fun seeing other people going round and round of searching for things that they will never find? i used to be the victim of these people scam when i just started my hot wheels collection. that's why i really hate this kind of hypocrite (or i would call them mouth full of sh*t) collector. but the sad thing is i still see these hypocrite people actively telling lies after lies be it in the forum or to other collectors....

so judge wisely what people post in the forum/blog. everybody can post or say anything they want, but it's up to you to believe it or not.

so now if i say that below pic is my haul from 7E promotion, will you still believe me? ah i should have stick the RM5.90 7E price sticker to that convoy custom before taking this picture. lol. :p

all pic are capture in different places. some in TRU, some in hypermarket, some in department store and some in convinient store. generally hot wheels can be classified as rare here. major department store only have less than 20 cards on the rack, hypermarket is even worse. most of the hot wheels stock are old stock which dated back in 2009. only TRU have some decent hot wheels stock, but it's still far behind compare to our TRU in malaysia.

this box set is awesome! can't believe i still can get it 25% off the retail price.

it come with 9 minifigures and 2 trolls. love the trolls very much.

now i have some soldier to sieage the orc castle. hehe.

the new release lego pharaoh's quest box set. another cool box set that all lego collector must have.

this is also a new lego release - ninjago series. i only bought this one. it's not cheap even bought it with retail price, but can't resist the evil nuckal!

complete sets of lego minifigures series 2 with all 16 minifigures. another spartan added to my spartan army! :p

some darthvader for me and my office colleague back in KL.

really can't wait to bring it back home and have a good time with my family assembling them.

here are some of my hot wheels finding for the past one week.

some 2011 hot wheels basic cars

some matchbox cars from the latest wave. i heard that the 2008 holden ve ute ssv is very hard to find in australia due to it's popularity with the people there. but i foresee this casting will be peg warmers in malaysia. lol. i like the 2010 fisker karma hybrid the most in this wave. will share some clearer pic when i got time.

there are some new speed machines wave restock too, but i just took one of this Lamborghini Murcielago LP 670-4 SV. don't know why every collector in this country is going crazy for this casting. maybe i'm not a lamboghini fan so it doesn't really create the excitement in me compare to when i first saw the ferrari 599xx. lol.

here is the latest 2011 hot wheels garage corvette stingray concept. the first release is in white colour, and this black colour is the second colour in this series.

i think our country is the first in the world to received this latest 2011 hot wheels garage case. i've not even seen this black stingray in U.S or ebay!
there are a few more casting that came in this latest 2011 hot wheels garage wave such as the red ferrari 512M, 65 mercury comet cyclone etc. so does this mean that we are going to miss the garage karmann ghia wave? ah crap! :(

after some clicking here and there in the internet, i found out this skyline actually belong to latest new Hot Wheels Rasing Kit series that mattel is releasing this year.

Maisto Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Gathering!

there was a secret maisto mitsubishi lancer evolution gathering in one of the department store today. 4 different kind of maisto lancer evo casting, 5 different colours. :p

it's not very usual to see so many different kind of maisto lancer evolution casting hang on the rack. i didn't bought any of those, but i'm sure this sight will not last long. :-)

i wonder why the Custom Shop series evo on the left (which is smaller size RM19.90) is more expensive than the Fifty5's series evo on the right (which is bigger size RM17.90).

to me i think the Fifty5's series look much better than the Custom Shop series.

not a bad result for a couple of hours search in just 2 days. :)

notice the different body colour tone of these 2 custom 53 cadillac? the upper one has darker colour than the lower one.

well everytime during the hw 7E promotion, there are sure some interesting story/incident that either i experience my self or heard from the 7E staff. there are story about collector that insulting 7E staff that doesn't want to bring out the hot wheels stock, collector that trailing the delivery truck, 7E staff that claim them self as hw collector by just collecting 'green card', 7E staff that even bought the 'green card' but have no idea why he bought that 'green card' lol.

But the one that disgust me the most was this incident in this recent 7E promotion where i was told by one of the 7E staff a person that claim himself from Mattel demanded him to open the hot wheels case to do 'Price Check'. WTF.... more story about this incident in my next few post.

My short Taiwan business trip haul - 2010/12/08

i went to Taiwan for a short business trip few days ago. see what i found in their convinient store? :p

this is the store i found the bone shaker TH. hehe.

unlike malaysia, in taiwan the convinient store that sell hot wheels is Family Mart, not 7-Eleven. however their hot wheels stock is very old and very limited (about 6 pcs per store only). their 7-Eleven store doesn't sell hot wheels but they do sell tomica. i found one tomica civic type-r in one of the 7-Eleven there. :)

then on my trip back to KL, stumble upon this in one of the toy shop in KLIA.

of so many new wave that hit our shore recently, why must it be the ford gtx1 wave again?? it can be either baja bug, 69 mustang, avanti or 58 chevy impala wave but ford gtx1?? arrrrgggggg...... so i consulted my self luckily it's not the cadillac wave. lol.

anyway i just took that super gtx1 and leave the other 4 regular gtx1 on there. so now guess how many super ford gtx1 i have?? =.=""

yes it's hot wheels and matchbox promotion time again in 7-Eleven. these are some of cars that you can find in 7E this time around.

for hot wheels, basically the wave that restock in 7E store are the cadillac and shelby cobra wave with the ratio of 70% (cadillac wave) and 30% (shelby cobra) wave. most of the cars in shelby wave is the mix of cars in cadillac wave and ford gtx1 wave. so there's nothing to shout about on the cars in this shelby wave other than the TH shelby cobra it self....

for matchbox, look out for the highly sought after blue civic type-r and white mini cooper. hot wheels speed machine came with the mix of the yellow ferrari 599xx and black ferrari 599xx wave.

below is the price of hot wheels and matchbox during this promotion for the record:

anyway, i'm so glad these final 6 missing pieces has finally arrived in our shore. and this also marks the completion of my total 24 cars of 2009 ferrari racer series. will take a group photo of all the 24 cars soon. stay tune! :)

i bought this cute litte car from the toy shop at the KLIA airport when i was back from my taiwan trip. this is also my first hot wheels toy story car series that i bought.

the lotso speed design is actually a truck mimicking bulldog. but why bulldog rather than bear??? :p anyway, i like it's design very much. great job and kudos to whoever in mattel that design this car.

i like look in this angle. like a bulldog that ready to pounce. hehe.

eventhought the size is small, but this car doesn't feel as light as what i first thought. the metal base really added weight to this small little car, easily outweight most of the hot wheels basic cars.

My short business trip haul - 2010/09/26

i was in taipei for a very short business trip last week. just manage sneak into the Sogo department store in the city and this is what i bought from there. was surprise to found the DD hanging on the rack. DD is not taipei hot wheels collector cup of tea? hehe.

hot wheels is selling about RM7.50 there. the star wars lego was about RM50 compare to RM109.90 in malaysia. :D
bought this custom beetle because it has openable rear hood which is kind of rare and hard to find variation in malaysia.

and these 2 is what i like the most among my haul - takara tomy pete custom garage DM-19 and DM-20. :)

i was really attracted to the detail of this cars. it has so much of details, plus the tampo are neetly and nicely printed on the car. this easily put on shame to some of the more expensive and sloopy tampo of hot wheels cars.

maisto has done a really good job on this casting which in my opinion is almost 95% accurate compare to the actual car it self. i must say i'm really impressed!

so next time while you are hunting for hot wheels cars, make sure you slow down your footstep and take a look at some of these maisto cars as well. some of the casting are beautiful and really worth every penny you spend on them. :)

recently there was another new hot wheels speed machines series wave that hitting our shore. well it might be new wave but all of the cars that came in this new wave are repeating of the previous wave that has been landed in our shore before, except the grey Ford Shelby GR-1 Concept.

initially from the glance of it, i didn't find anything special on this car. but upon closer look, the cars seems like painted in spectraflame paint (similiar to those paint use for TH$ cars) which given some shining look when it reflected the light at certain angle. well i might be wrong though, but at least it did convince me to fork out RM15 for it. :p

some of the errors cars that i bought from this new wave. can you spot the error? hehe.

also bought is this hot wheels colour shifter Piranna Patrol Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X. i wish it was difference colour intead of yellow in room tempreture. because earlier on there's already another version of this casting that's in yellow colour in room tempreture.

if you've been collecting hot wheels for a while, i guess you'll know actually this is not a new wave. :p in fact this is last year GMC Motorhome wave that hit our shore last year around april-may. i was desperately looking for this wave last year but i couldn't locate any of them. this wave was very very short run and only landed in a couple of hypermarket in klang valley area.

finally out from no where i found these GMC wave cars hang on the rack in one of the hypermarket today. i don't know why these old car wave re-appear again at this point of time, but what i know is i'm as happy as i found a new wave! :D

these are some of the latest maisto cars that hit our shore recently - the marvel universe and iron man 2 diecast cars.

all the cars in these series are very colourful. and there are so many different characters in so many different casting which i end up don't even have any idea which one to pick. =.=" i guess there are generally 2 strategy to choose the cars in this series:
1. stick to the casting you like and just collect that casting.
2. stick to the marvell characters you like and just collect the cars that came with that characters.

Here is my haul today, the same wave that I sported 2 weeks ago in one of the hypermarket.

There are a lot of hot and nice super cars in this wave such as:

I stumble upon 4 cartons of hw cases coded “KB” stacking on a pallet laying on the floor. From the glance of it, I notice all the 4 cases has been opened so I wasn’t really going to expect any TH cars anymore.

nevertheless I still open up the cases and wow this case is the exactly the same wave which I got the 2010 lancer evolution 2 weeks ago. so I just take my own sweet time to take out the car from one of the case and start to choose the cars that I like. as I was selecting the cars, here come one of the supervisor from that hypermarket (which I think is new cause I haven’t seen him before) with his gung-ho attitude. below is the conversation between me and him.

him: “you cari apa?”
me: “i cari stock hotwheels baru yang I nak beli.”
him: “you cari thunt kah?”
i was a bit stunt when i hear this. lol.
me: “ ada kereta thunt ka?”
him: “mana ada thunt, takda.”
you think i’m a kid just first day hunting? lol.
me: “macam mana boleh takda?”
him: “i dah simpan thunt tu, isteri saya jual kereta thunt tu. isteri saya kerja kat hasbro.”
deng.... there you go the confession without even any hesitation or sorry for what he has done.
me: “oh…. tak kisah la thunt ke tak. aku nak beli kereta yang aku suka je.”
then he is basically just standing beside me waiting and looking at me choosing the cars. after I finish choose the cars from the first case, then i ask him:
me: “boleh saya pilih kereta dalam satu lagi kotak tu?”
him: “tak boleh, kita kena susun dulu baru you boleh pilih”
me: “apesal tak boleh pulak? ni kan untuk jual nanti karang kan?”
him: “tak boleh, nanti lepas you pilih stock staff kita takan display kat rack lagi.”
huh? what kind of reason is this?
me: “takpe la aku pilih la kereta yang aku nak dulu, nanti kor display la yang tinggal tu”
him: “tak boleh, you kena tunggu kita display dulu”
I was like “ok you have taken the th cars, and now you don’t even allow me to buy the remaining cars? Lol.”
me: “habis tu bila you nak dispay?”
him: “you pergi bayar dulu nanti saya display.”

I proceed to take a basket to put in the cars that I have choose. when I go back to that same spot, I saw him towing away the whole pallet back into their storeroom and never come out already. Lol!

anyway, I just proceed to pay and leave that place. nowdays i’m kind of no feeling and numb to insider already… too many of them and it’s never ending… I have learned it’s more happy to hunt for the cars i like rather get angry with them. lol.

when I reach home, suddenly only i remember i should have ask him what th cars that came in this wave. dayem! maybe i should have ask him how much does his wife selling those TH cars also. lol.

Hot Wheels 7 Eleven Promotion - 2010/07/26 to 2010/08/22

yes after a few months wait, the hot wheels 7E promotion is back in town. however, i only have 3 words to describe the promotion this time - Boring Boring and Boring....

i was hoping 7E to restock new basic car wave in this promotion, but instead they restock again with the old wave (chevroletor, camaro, ratbomb) that's been hit our shore many months ago... boring....

this time around, i was just covering half of the 7E that i normally go for my 7E hunting. i really don't feel like hunting this time around, the exciment is not there anymore. it's totally not worth the energy, time and petrol for me just to hunt for a TH$.

and guess what, i went back home straight the moment i found this 2 TH cars. lol.

and it's also the only 2 hotwheels basic cars that i bought in this 7E promotion restock. lol.

well on the bright side, most of the 7E outlet restock with the new and latest hotwheels speed machines wave this time. there's a lot of cool and nice speed machines cars in this new wave. i shall post them in my next post. :)

just as i thought gangster grin wave is going to hit more to our shore later, these new cars really caught me in surprise. i have no idea what wave these new car came with. the lanser evo and ecto-1 was left hanging on the rack, but the TH car couldn't be found anywhere. very fishy...

anyway i still went home happy with the lancer evo. hehe.

the code that printed at the bottom of these new cars is "C20", which is way ahead of current gangster grin wave which is "C09".

oh ya i thought i hit jackpot when i saw this!

My short oversea trip haul - 2010/07/11

i went for a short oversea business trip a couple of days ago. guess what place is this?

yea that trade mark bamboo pole and scaffolding that use in building construction and made famous by jacky chan in his stunt movie. lol.

i've been to hong kong for many times due to work. so basically i didn't went for any sighseing in this trip, but just to one place with one sole purpose - hunt for toys. hehe.

this is one type of the toy shop that you don't get to see in Malaysia. but there are so many of them in Hong Kong.

these toy gun look so real that i wonder how does the hong kong goverment control this so that it will not being use by those people with bad intention.

my god more and more places restock with ratbomb wave. and of so many places, this is the the last place i'll expect to find the TH cards hang on the rack. can you guess where is this? hehe

no no it's not my usual 'favourite' jusco, haha. that favourite jusco of mine earlier is already history. now i found my new favourite jusco - Midvalley. lol.

did you notice anything wrong with the ratbomb? yea it's without jusco price tag. have you ever see jusco hang their hw cards without their price tag? and of so many hw cards is these 2 th cards that they didn't stick the price tag? the staff mistake? careless? i say these TH cards are the one that reserved for those 'special customer' earlier on. and why now it's on the rack? the answer is simple. just like the qombee wave that release in eary 2009, now ratbomb wave virtually flooded our market until those 'special customer' don't even feel this TH ratbomb special anymore. so this is the only time you'll find the TH cards hang on the rack in 'everybody favourite' jusco. lol.

the bat-pod is one of the highly sought after item by hot wheels collector here. but some how i'm not really attracted to it. perhaps is the price? perhaps is the 'plastic-ky' look? hmm....

and still remember this photo that i took a month ago in my 'favourite' jusco?

Hot Wheels Production Code?

have you ever had this feeling when you saw the cars in hw rack but wasn't sure whether those hw car was from the new wave or from the old wave? well just flip over and find the the 3 characters code printed at the bottom of the cars. these 3 characters code can actually give you some clue.

you'll notice the code started with an alphabet and followed by 2 numbers. well the alphabet actually represent the year the car was produced, and the 2 numbers represent the week number in that year the car was produced.

example:
C09 = Year 2010, week number 09 in that year.
C05 = Year 2010, week number 05 in that year.
B18 = Year 2009, week number 18 in that year.
A33 = Year 2008, week number 33 in that year.

99.9% of the cars that came in the same wave will have the same code printed at the bottom of the car. for example the cars that came in gangster grin wave is C09, ratbomb wave is C06, chevroletor wave is C04, camaro wave is C01 and etc. the exception here is the TH$. if you have a chance to score TH$ on the rack, you'll notice the code for TH$ is actually earlier than the rest of the car that came in the same wave.

back to the first pic i posted above, the nerve hammer code C09 mean this car came in gangster grin wave. more example below:

stockar that came in 2010 chevroletor wave - C04.

VW fastback that came in 2008 drift king wave - A33.

the current gangster grin wave that hit our shore is C09. so the next wave that hit our shore will have the code number that's higher than C09, eg C10, C11 or C12 etc... this information is very usefull for me cause i do not actually remember all the cars that came in the wave. so if i wasn't so sure what cars that's hang on the rack (especially in 7E outlet :p ), i just flip the cars over and look at the bottom code.

this code mechanism only started in mid year 2008. so you'll see those cars that produce before mid year 2008 will have no code at the bottom of the cars. that's also explain why the code A is = 2008. :D

spotted this huge pile of hot wheels "DDT" case as well today! wuhuu!!! i would be extremely happy if i spotted this in other department store/places. lol. but considering this pile is spotted at our ever famous mid valley TRU, i have totally lost my interest on finding what's inside those case. so i just took this pic and walk away. from my guessing it must be the latest hw wave that i spotted in jusco earlier.

so if you are looking for cars in the new hot wheels wave, perhaps it's a good idea to check out this TRU from time to time as the stock replenish to the rack.

oh btw, these new wave cars is 'C09', if you know what i mean. :)

Hot Wheels Field Report - 2010/05/04

encounter some of the new hot wheels product today which i think worth mention here.

conjuction with Toy Story 3 cartoons which going to be aired in our local cinema, mattel is lauching some of the new hot wheels toys story product. these are some of the new product that hit our shore recently. (click on the pic to see it in bigger size.)

this set came with 'rex rider'.

this set came with 'little green speedster'.

all the cars that available in hot wheels toys story. i like that 'lotso speed' the most. :)

some of non toys story hot wheels new product. made with plastic, i'll give it a pass...

and also some new hot wheels track set. only interested with the mercy breaker that came in the set.

took this pic in jusco maluri this evening. 1 carton of fresh new ratbomb wave on the rack but th car is missing.

after i took this pic, guess what? finally i got to see the guy that resposible for all the missing th car from jusco maluri. a 40+ (or 50) age guy with long curly hair (tied in pony tail) came and took the ratbomb th from the toy section counter. and guess who pass him the TH? yea is that mattel consignment lady staff that i was suspecting all the time.... she took out the ratbomb th from the drawer and hand it over to that guy, in front of all her other staff. geez.... i was watching all these from a distance and i think that guy did notice i was watching him too.

anyway, i took this incident as personal note and i'm kind of satisfied that after 1.5 year i've been hunting in this jusco, finally i can confirm my suspicios and put the final nail to the coffin. i hope this information is usefull to other 'new' hw collectors so that you don't 'buta-buta' (blindly) hunt up and down in this jusco hoping to land the TH car. lol. but, if TH is not your game, then this jusco is still a good hunting ground for other hw cars cause they restock very frequently.

so if you ask me after all these will i still be hunting in this jusco? my answer is why not? hehehe. let the insider take the TH car and i'm still happy to get the other hw and matchbox car which is much better than TH car. :D

btw i think i've seen this guy before but where ya? hmm....

Jusco Mahkota Cheras

today is the opening day of new AEON shopping mall in Mahkota Cheras. i took some time off this morning to be there before the opening time @ 10am hoping to grab some new hw speed machine at discounted price. hehe. lot's of people gathered at the main enterance waiting for it to open but everything is under control.

when the door finally opened, can see everybody (mostly are uncle and aunties) rushing into the building as like there where free gift to be grabbed. lol. i just walk slowly into the building but headed straight to the toy department.

when i arrive at hot wheels section, i meet one collector (which i kown) that arrive just a few second earlier than me. he is the first one to arrive at the rack. after greeting him i ask him did he found any th cards? as i expected even before i steps into this jusco, there where no th cards to be found hang on the rack. a new open store, all new and fresh stock, but no th cards to be found? great! another doom jusco... anyway i'm kind of expected this already so i wasn't really surprise. i proceed to check the speed machines series but to my disapointment there were no new wave as well.

before i left, i saw 2 more collectors comming to the hw section, one of the guy was carrying MyNews plasctic bags and there were reg th ford woodie, 2 morris mini plus some others hw cars (he took out and show to another person). hmm why didn't i think of (heading to MyNews) that earlier ? :p

anyway, i just stay there about 15 minutes and left without buying anything. i think i'm the first one who leave the car park though. lol.

oh btw, to that hw collector that first arrive at the hw rack which i meet, thanks for offering me to share the Matchbox red London Bus. i really appreciate your kindness (eventhough i didn't take the offer). :)

even though i do not know anything about nascar, but i always get attracted to the colourful racing tampo on the their racing cars. i guess the popularity of nascar in US must be like F1 in asia/europe? anyway, enjoy the pic.

other than the wheels, the base dark red colour of this TH$ is painted in spectraflame. however, the flame pattern on top of the dark red is the same as the regular version. click on individual pic to view the bigger size pic.
